“The Ultimate Event-2008" was GREAT!
The 2008 Ultimate Event was exactly that, an Ultimate Miniature Event for all concerned that went well in every facet. To describe it in one word would be to say fun, Fun, FUN!
All three shows – AMHR, ASPC, and AMHA, were very competitive in all divisions, with approximately 243 horses attending the three shows. The trophies were beautiful and quite unusual and the competitors seemed to really enjoy the cash they won, in addition to the ribbons and trophies. Thank you's should go out to all the participants for such a beautiful group of horses!
We had around a dozen Vendors offering a wide variety of products and services to attendees, with the IAMHA Supporting Vendors offering discounts to all IAMHA Associate Members, which they will continue to do. We also now have several more vendors interested in signing up as new IAMHA Supporting Vendors!
Our International Visitors were welcomed in style and were truly excited to be a part of this outstanding and first "Ultimate Event."
The Friday Night Fiesta was a smashing hit. Fiesta decorations, such as Piñatas, Sombreros, etc., along with the Bistro, made this night a truly colorful and festive one to remember.
The Avenue of Stars was a presentation of some of the best stallions, mares and foals in the industry. It was a wonderful opportunity to see these extraordinary animals "up close and personal."
The Ultimate Idol competition was a lot of fun with a number of talented people entering. There was some really stiff competition on Saturday night before the winner was announced and awarded a collector’s “Elvis Stein” plus a cash award.
The Ultimate Event Sale was a great success and one of the best in the country for the year, so far. The food was great. The decorations were beautiful. And, most importantly, 40 of the 60 horses sold for an average of $3,875.00 per horse, so it seems the miniature horse market is still very much alive and well.
A huge THANK YOU also goes out to all the founding members of IAMHA, the show manager, Nancy Braesicke, the show staff and steward, the judges, Allison, the office staff, plus all those who helped put on this successful show and sale. Without all the hard work from these individuals, our first Ultimate Event would not have been the grand success that it was!
What’s next? Needless to say, it is going to be tough to top this show, sale and shindig next year, but plans are already in the works for our next IAMHA function. Stay tuned for more information!
Sincerely,
John W. Cherry
